I know it's unusual to get a newsletter from us in the middle of the month. We have an announcement to make that is bittersweet for us.
For the past 3 1/2 years we have loved making candy for all of you but it is time for us to pass the whisk on to someone else. Actually, two someone elses. This was a very hard decision for us to make but due to healthy reasons it was obvious what we needed to do.
I am confident that the businesses taking over will do a fantastic job at serving you.

They plan on stocking Kickshaw favorites in November. I have known Maureen for over 4 years now and I know she will make you all happy with her confectioner skills.
Both companies will be using my original recipes to bring you the fabulous treats that Kickshaw Confections brought you. We will miss catering to your sweet tooth needs but are excited to move on to a new chapter in our lives.

About the kitchen..
OUR KITCHEN IS A STATE LICENSED and INSPECTED KITCHEN. WE ARE ALSO FULLY INSURED.
Kickshaw Confections is a family owned and run business. All confections are made in our home. We take extra care to insure quality control and safety while in our kitchen. Before each batch of candy is made we wipe down everything with our own homemade cleaner that is free of chemicals. Confectioners wear their hair back and gloves. We control the climate with a dehumidifier. We guarantee good quality choice confections come out of our kitchen. When we are preparing foods that need to be cooked we only use titanium cookware. Our cookware does not contain a non-stick coating.
About the Confectioners
We come from a family of confectioners that have over 20 years experience. My husband and I are 2nd generation confectioners. We are proud to keep the tradition of candy making alive in the family and are excited to also pass it down to our children in the future.
About the Business
 In January of 2006 we purchased a lovely WAHM owned lollipop shop called "Mountain Pops" when she decided to sell. We reopened Mountain Pops the same month. At first we just made the lollipops, but I soon realized my love of making confections and my husband was thinking back to his days of growing up in the candy business. We decided it was time to take on the family tradition and we started adding chocolate to the site. In June 2006 we realized that we wanted to expand further and to do that we should change the store name to reflect that. In August 2006 Kickshaw Confections opened it's virtual doors. Since then we have added many wonderful confections, have grown considerably with great thanks to our customers. We look forward to serving you for many many years and passing the torch down to our children when that time comes. About our Candy
All candy with the exception of lollipops are made when you order to give you the freshest confections possible. We carefully choose each product that goes into each yummy treat. We do not use preservatives in any of our food and we only use all natural and/or organic ingredients. Even though we do not use them they still have a shelf life of at least 1 month. We don't imagine that you'll have our goodies around longer then a day or two though. Our chocolate is very special to us. It's only made through October to May. I have been a chocolate lover for as long as I can remember and have a very particular taste when it comes to chocolate. The chocolate we use is real. It can not be bought in a grocery store or a craft store. It can not be melted and poured. There is absolutely no oils in our chocolate. Our chocolate is also gluten free. Our milk chocolate has a high milk powder content that makes it so very creamy and our dark chocolate has 50+% cocoa content making it a great antioxidant. Do not be alarmed if when you are eating our chocolate it begins to melt on your fingers. A fine chocolate will melt with the warmth of you hands, that's a good thing. It means you are eating the best.
Each confections is beautifully packaged, so it's perfect for gift giving. If you would like us to mail it to a loved one please let us know and we will do that free of charge and even add a card.
What we Believe
The Kickshaw Confections family has incorporated our way of living into our business. We eat whole foods and we limit our consumption of products that contain GMOs(genetically modified organism). We are extremely proud to be able to offer you products that are made from scratch using whole, non-processed foods.
We also care deeply for our Earth. We use recycled packaging and recycled or reused shipping products.
