I know it's unusual to get a newsletter from us in the middle of the month. We have an announcement to make that is bittersweet for us.
For the past 3 1/2 years we have loved making candy for all of you but it is time for us to pass the whisk on to someone else. Actually, two someone elses. This was a very hard decision for us to make but due to healthy reasons it was obvious what we needed to do.
I am confident that the businesses taking over will do a fantastic job at serving you.

They plan on stocking Kickshaw favorites in November. I have known Maureen for over 4 years now and I know she will make you all happy with her confectioner skills.
Both companies will be using my original recipes to bring you the fabulous treats that Kickshaw Confections brought you. We will miss catering to your sweet tooth needs but are excited to move on to a new chapter in our lives.

What form of payment do you take? TOP
We prefer paypal. If you wish to pay with a credit card you can do so through paypal even if you don't have or don't want to sign up for a paypal account. We will take checks and money orders.
How long will it take for my order to ship? TOP
We will contact you when we receive your order to give you an estimated shipping time. Instock items will ship within 2 days. Normally turn around time on custom orders is 1 week with the exception of Christmas, Easter and the end of the season when turn around is 2 weeks.
Why can't my order ship right away? TOP
We make each order fresh. We want you to have the best quality confections possible so we do not make large batches and store them. We know it's not fun to wait for mail but you will know it's worth the wait when our treats touch your taste buds.
Does it really cost that much to ship? TOP
Sometimes we are asked why it costs more than $4.60 to ship a 1/2 lb box of candies when it costs $4.60 to ship a box that is 1 lb. The reason is packaging. We need to add the proper packaging supplies to keep your confections fresh during shipping, all of this adds extra weight. A lot of the time the shipping is actually more than what you were charged and some of the time it's less. If you ever pay more than $2 over what actual shipping cost you will receive a refund.
Can you ship to another address? TOP
Yes we can! Just let us know ahead of time and we will make sure your purchase gets to where it needs to go.
Do you gift wrap? TOP
Our candies are packaged beautifully and are ready for gift giving. We are more than happy to add a gift card to your package and ship to the gift recipient. Just let us know!
Do you offer samplers? TOP
We do not have a sampler listed for sale but if you are interested in trying a few different items please email us and we can work something out. kickshawcandy@aol.com

Do you make the candy yourself? TOP
Yes we do. Everything is handcrafted by us in our home. We take great pride in this. We do not buy anything premade or take short cuts. You will be able to taste our devoting to confecting in every bite.
Our kitchen is inspected and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
What do you mean by "real" chocolate? TOP
Some "chocolate" contains oils. If it contains oil then it is not real chocolate. If it can be melted in a microwave or double boiled and then poured into molds, it is not real chocolate. That is called chocolate coating. It can with stand heat easier and is great for small crafters but it's just not the real deal. It tastes pretty good but does not compare to real chocolate.
Our chocolate is real. It does not contain any oils, additives or preservatives. We do not melt and mold, use chocolate chips or melthing disks. It's the real deal. Not only is it real but it's fine. One bite and you will taste the difference.
What do you mean by fine chocolate? TOP
In my book all chocolate is good. I LOVE LOVE LOVE chocolate, but fine chocolate is something special. Fine chocolate melts with body temperature, it's creamy, the taste is one that you just want to keep in your mouth for a long time. It's nothing like a bar of chocolate you pick up from the candy aisle. It's something you just have to taste.
Why is there white spots or crystals on my chocolate? TOP
White spots or crystallization on chocolate is called "bloom". It happens to real fine chocolate when it goes through temperature or humidity changes quickly. It won't hurt you or change the taste it just effects appearance. Do you ship chocolate all year? TOP
Unfortunately, no we don't.
We do not ship chocolate from May 1st to October 1st. Our chocolate is very fine and delicate. It will melt easily and we only want the best goods arriving to your door, because of that we choose not to ship during those months.

Our candy is made fresh when you order so you get the optimum taste. It also is made with the finest ingredients that we can find. Our candy does not contain preservatives, artificial flavors, GMOs or dyes. We believe that you can live a healthy, holistic life style and still enjoy sweets because they do not need to be filled with junk. We like to give each treat a special touch with nice packaging that is made from recycled materials and beautiful ribbons. Shopping with us supports a work from home business, that supports other work at home, small and local businesses. We really love what we do and believe it shows through in our product. Don't worry it's not dirt or anything that shouldn't be there. It won't hurt you and it doesn't happen often. We use organic ingredients and the sugar we use is not processed at all. It's just part of the sugar and tangible evidence that we use ingredients that are good for you. |
